{Photos} Mogambo (1953)
Let’s have a look at some of the fantastic photos from Mogambo (1953) today…
Shot on location in the wilds of Africa, the film provides some pretty great on the set shots:
Clark Gable and co-star Grace Kelly’s relationship became romantic during filming and the candids from the set certainly don’t hide that fact:
Sure, Clark and Grace were getting friendly in their tents, but there are some great candids of pals Clark and Ava on the set together:
Hey, when you are out in the middle of nowhere in Africa, everybody needs haircuts:
And, naturally, some Clark closeups:

I wonder how Clark and Ava would have fared as a couple…

A fine film and some wonderful shots. Wherever you found them, the doing worth it.

I love Clark Gable, but in all honestly the young Clark Gable is the one I admire. His acting was always spot on throughout his career but as he aged I felt he lost touch with the regular working lower income people. His face showed years of sun, drink and wealth.
When he (Clark) was younger he had this excitement and energy aura about him that i wanted to be like…and it made me want to know Clark and let some of his glow rub off on me.I wished I could of had a talk with him and see what some of his views on life were He was blessed with good looks and physical stature, that in combination with being in the right place at the right time, and in the right era…we all got blessed with a great artist, personally he is one of the people , if I could go back in time, that I would of loved to have met!.

Poor Frank looks out of his comfort zone coming down the steps to set foot in Africa…not his natural habitat obviously. The things you do for love (of Ava, natch!)
