Gossip Friday: More Than Pals

It begins to look as if Clark Gable and Carole Lombard are something more than pals. They see each other constantly and travel about in an old car that Carole once presented to him as a joke. The no less whimsical Clark went ahead and spent 300 dollars fixing the car so that it looks like new.

Carole’s great enthusiasm these days is her new home in Bel-Air. She is in the delightful throes of house-decorating, and is expressing herself in a dozen different color-schemes. Every room will be individual, and as bright and cheerful as she can get it. No pallid pastels for Carole.

An indispensable feature is the full-sized tennis court. Carole is an ardent fan. Orry-Kelly, style-designer at Warners, says she has the most perfect figure of any film star, and she keeps it playing tennis every day.
