Gossip Friday: Taking a Trip?

From March 1947:

Clark Gable is planning to take a three-month flying trip around the world when he finishes his next picture. The actor will start “Angel’s Flight” six weeks after he finishes “The Hucksters,” then he’ll take most of the summer for an air jaunt to distant places. His plan indicates what a lonesome guy Clark has been in recent years since the death of Carole Lombard.

___

Clark never did make a film called “Angel’s Flight”–I have seen that mentioned more than once. Also, he was too traumatized to fly for years after Carole’s death (not including his time in the Army Air Corps). He didn’t take a commerical flight until 1952, when he flew from Europe to Africa to film Mogambo.
