Clark Gable and Carole Lombard are regular patrons [of the drive-in theater] and, to avoid possibility of detection and annoyance, the two sometimes come in the battered old Ford which Carole gave Clark a year ago.
Gable told a someone once that his gravestone wold read “he was lucky and he knew it”. He always felt he was one flop away from being a has been, and never forgot where he came from. I imagine that old ford may have helped keep him grounded as well.
