Gossip Friday: Clark Gable, True Aquarius?

It’s Clark Gable’s birthday tomorrow!

In October 1939, a fan magazine published a chart of different male stars and what their astrological signs meant about their personalities. It was meant as a guide for women: “Check up on the man in your life, and see whether he should be treated like a Robert Taylor of a Gary Cooper!” Clark was the representative for Aquarius.

Outstanding Characteristics: Philosophical, independent, original.

What Kind of a Husband Would He Make? Faithful but neither sentimental nor domesticated. Not recommended for romantic, possessive women.

What Kind of Boss Would He Be? A good friend to his employees, and is strong for laor-saving devices.

How He Meets Trouble: He’s an introvert and non-aggressive, so hugs his sorrows in himself, and broods over them.

His Financial Tendencies: A free spender with a tendency to buy anything new and different, from television sets to airplanes.

His Attitude Toward Women: His exceptional capacity for friendship extends even to the woman he loves.

Things That Annoy Him: Tell him that he’s only a mere man after all.

His Hobbies: Airplanes, radios, lectures (his own, and those he pays to hear), anything cultural and in advance of the times.

His Temper: Well, controlled, but he’s sensitive and, if hurt, may do something really drastic! Otherwise he just sulks.

And these are pretty much way off. Big spender? Faithful husband? Into radios and anything advance of the times? Controlled temper? Not sentimental?  No way.
