Gossip Friday: Fellow Daredevil

Clark Gable, star of the MGM picture “To Please a Lady,” gives Joie Chitwood a wish of good luck just before Chitwood takes off on one of his daring stunts in the thrill show he now heads. This scene was made at a recent performance in California in which Mr. Gable was one of the spectators. The Chitwood show plays a very important part in Mr. Gable’s new movie built around the career of a combination race driver and stunt man very much like Joie’s own life as a daredevil. The World Champion Chitwood Daredevils will present their show at the Madison County Fair the night of Tuesday August 22.
