Carole Lombard DiesClark's third wife, Carole Lombard, perished in a plane crash on Mount Potosi near Las Vegas, Nevada, on January 16, 1942.
Also killed in the crash were her mother, Elizabeth Peters, and Clark's friend, Otto Winkler.
